Today we’re going to be battling with Gnar Nora. As we gear up for the Runeterra Open, we’ve been focusing on the best of three lineup, and I’m happy with the Udyr Jarvan and Samira Leona decks, but I haven’t been satisfied with the third deck. We’ve been flipping between Gwen Quinn and Aatrox Vayne, but they overlap too much with the other decks. So, I’m envisioning what we can get in our third deck and what strategy we should use.

We’ve been dealing with Fizz Samira, which is okay, but we need to be more in tune with the space of just banning Sett Karma. The top eight of the Mastering Runeterra Event was flooded with Karma Sett, which will be a major factor in the upcoming event. However, Gnar Norra can perform exceptionally well against any unit-based strategy. It’s quite strong against a lot of the mid-ranging decks that are running through the current format right now. We have a lot of removal spells that can get sent towards low health units, and then we have the Disintegrates and Scorched Earth to clean up the bigger units at the end of the day.

As far as Gnar Norra goes, there are a few different flavors of this, but they’re all essentially the same deck. They all carry a small Norra package, and then you have like 20 removal spells in the deck. You’re looking at things like Pie Toss and Group Shot, and you have this great package attacking low health units. We have between four and five big late game closers, and we’re going to be doing battle with the Ravenbloom Conservatory. We can probably slam it down early and not waste that mana, but the downside is if we draw the Conservatory on turn nine, we would much rather that be a Captain Farron or a Treasured Trash.

In conclusion, we’re excited to try out the Gnar Norra deck and see how it performs in the upcoming event. We’re still figuring out which version we like the most, but we’re confident that we can make it work. With the right strategy and a bit of luck, we hope to come out on top and show everyone what we’re made of.
