Today we’re going to be doing battle with Tristana Garen. This is our first video of the 4.4 patch, which is the balance patch coming out of the Glory for Navori. We saw some minor nerfs to Ashe and Karma, as well as some nerfs to the Plunder package surrounding Samira. We also saw some buffs to some other cards, like Soul Harvest from Shadow Isles and the likes of Azir and Nasus all getting a boost.
The card we really wanted to look at and take focus on today is Bandle Gunners. This is a card that we made the comparison to Corridor Creeper, a Hearthstone card from a decade ago that had to be nerfed multiple times over the course of its lifespan. We’re seeing if Bandle Gunners can carry on that torch and carry on that strength of the five-five unit that has a cost reduction aspect tied to it.
The big thing to note with this style of deck is that Bandle Gunners suffers the same fate as Tristana, in that they both have pretty big attack but your opponent can block it with a small 1-1 unit and they don’t get the opportunity to deal that much damage. To mitigate this, it’s important to have ways to either Elusive, Rally, or Overwhelm. The most common idea you’re going to be seeing with Tristana is just playing Might, but I’m looking to move a little bit differently from that.
The way I’m looking towards that is Demacia. We get access to the Combat Cook, which is arguably the best multi-faction card in the game. Champion Strength is the premiere rally card in the game, and we’re also looking to take advantage of Cataclysm. Cataclysm works with Impact, so if we have a Tristana with three or four impact on her, we could potentially Cataclysm into a unit and get the kill. We’re also looking to take advantage of Genevieve’s Scout ability to get extra synergies out of Cataclysm.
