Today I’m going to be talking about the Fearsomes deck. This deck had a moment to shine for one patch, but then it kind of fell off the radar. However, if the meta is designed in a way that this strategy is strong, I’m definitely looking to take it into the upcoming best of three events.

The Fearsomes deck is all about taking advantage of Fearsome units. It has some big combos attached to it, with the Mistwraith package. This package includes the Mistwraith, Wraithcallen, and Risen Mists. We also have access to the card Soul Cleave, which lets us potentially kill off one Wraithcaller. This will summon two more copies, which will then summon two more Mistwraiths.
From the new set, we’re also playing Pirouette. This card fits in fantastically with the theme of the deck. It doesn’t look like it would be amazing, but it can be used to kill one unit and stun another. This makes it very challenging for the opponent to block any of our Fearsomes.
The Fearsomes deck is also okay as a generalist deck. It has an aggro package that can beat up on a lot of decks, but it’s looking for a specific meta to develop. For example, it was exceptionally strong in the Ryze meta, since it couldn’t be answered by the opponent. If the meta continues to evolve and we see Annie Katarina as one of the premier control decks, and if AOE isn’t great, then this deck has a real chance to break through and be a real contender.
Hopefully this was a nice little primer on the Fearsomes deck. If the meta is right, it could be a real contender in the best of three events.
