At its core, this is a Forge-based deck, with early game Forge units like Weaponsmith’s Apprentice and Favored Artisan, and mid-game cards like Bellow’s Breath. We’re looking to enhance a singular equipment, and then use Ornn and his forged up weapon to smash through in the late game.
This deck is similar to what you’d see from Jax Ornn in Eternal, but with some key differences. We’re using Momentous Choice instead of Catch and Furious Wielder instead of Fish Fights. We’re also taking into consideration the Siren Song element of this format, and our answer to opponents playing silences is to come out with some good equipment. You can’t silence away the stats and abilities that come with equipment, so that’s our way to counteract common combat tricks.
We’re also using Bellow’s Breath to clear out opposing units, and we have a lot of life gain elements in this deck. Between Keeper of the Box, Innovative Blacksmith, and Kayn, we have a lot of ways to counteract the strengths of Samira Fizz and Samira Jinx. The last wild card in this deck is the Icevale Cultist, which gives all of our equipped units Overwhelm. This allows us to deal damage through the width of our opponents.
So that’s the deck I’m doing battle with today. I’m really interested to see how it plays out, and I’m confident that the combination of equipment, life gain, and Overwhelm will give me the edge I need to come out on top. Wish me luck!
