Rek’Sai Pyke – Soul Fighter Lottery Tickets – LoR Standard Deck

In this guide, we will explore the thrill of battling with a unique deck called Lurkers. While Lurkers might not be my usual style, I can’t resist trying out the Pyke skin we earned recently. So, let’s dive into the instructions and get ready to have some fun with Lurkers!

Deck Building with Lurkers:

When it comes to building a Lurk deck, it’s important to note that most lists you find will be pretty much the same. To start, go to the deck builder and search for “Lurk.” Add every card with the Lurk keyword to your deck. This deck has remained largely unchanged since it was released around a year or two ago. Don’t expect much to change in the future either.

Although Lurk decks have limited options outside of Lurk cards, there is still room for some unique choices. For instance, we’ve decided to include three copies of Blood in the Water and three copies of Xer’sai Dune Breaker in our deck. Additionally, it’s common these days to play one copy of Rite of Negation and one copy of Ruthless Predator. These cards add a bit of interactivity and support other card abilities.

Special Considerations:

Let’s talk about a few key points in our deck. Firstly, we have included one copy of Chamber of Renewal. This card is particularly useful in countering single target removals and spells like Harsh Winds. It can grant your Rek’Sai a spell shield, helping you secure victory in the late game while preventing your opponent from shutting down your game plan easily.

Now, let’s address the presence of two copies each of Aspiring Chronomancer and Forsaken Baccai. It is crucial to attack on the first turn with Forsaken Baccai, as this activates the Lurk ability early on. While the predict mechanic on Baccai is helpful, our main focus is to attack on turn one and start building exponential power from the beginning.

On the other hand, Aspiring Chronomancer shines in this format. With cards like Jinx Cannon in the meta, the Chronomancer’s ability to eliminate opposing units effectively becomes invaluable. Imagine blocking an opponent’s attack with the Chronomancer and then using Ruthless Predator to take down their unit while benefiting from the Chronomancer’s ability. This creates powerful and strategic plays that can turn the tide of the match in our favor.

Considering the prevalence of the Jinx Kennen deck in the current meta, we have opted for a 2-2 split between Forsaken Baccai and Aspiring Chronomancer. This ensures we have a balanced approach to handle different situations in the game.

Conclusion:

And there you have it, folks! A beginner’s guide to playing Legends of Runeterra with the Lurk deck. While this deck might not be my personal favorite, it offers an exciting and aggro-heavy playstyle that can be a lot of fun.
