In today’s post we’ll be discussing a powerful Legends of Runeterra deck called Samira Gnar. This deck has proven to be highly successful, and I even took it up to Masters rank! If you’re looking for a strong deck to play, then this might be the one for you!
Samira Gnar shares some similarities with another popular deck called Vayne Jarvan. However, it also plays out differently in some ways. While Vayne Jarvan focuses on maximizing the impact of one unit, Samira Gnar is more about overwhelming your opponent with multiple units. The strategy is to build a wide board of overwhelm units and continuously attack your opponent, chipping away at their health.
Survivability is crucial in this deck. We want to ensure that our units stay on the board for as long as possible. To achieve this, we have included cards like Warden of the Tribes and Bonehide Tri-tail. These cards not only help in building bigger boards but also provide additional power when we have multiple unit subtypes on the board.
In the early game, our focus is on building up our unit stats. Cards like Omen Hawk, Darkin Spear, and others allow us to buff our units’ stats. We aim to avoid making unfavorable trades and instead build up a strong board presence. Once we have a substantial number of overwhelm units on the board, we can start attacking aggressively, hopefully with our units further boosted with some extra stats.
A key card in this deck is Decisive Maneuvers. It allows us to stun our opponent’s biggest blocker out of combat while granting a buff to all our remaining overwhelm units. This combination often results in dealing significant damage and can serve as a game-winning move.
Additionally, Elixir of Iron has proven to be quite impressive in this deck. It helps protect our units and boosts their survivability. In a meta where damaging removal spells are prevalent, having the ability to cheaply protect our units is invaluable.
Overall, the Samira Gnar deck offers an overwhelming presence on the board, thanks to its wide selection of overwhelm units. It has a strong late-game potential with cards like Frost Coat Cub and Warden of the Tribes. If you’re looking for a deck that excels in chipping down your opponent’s health and finishing them off with powerful attacks, this might be the perfect choice for you!
