At star level zero, Darius and his deck are some of the worst in the game. The common strategy of champion item stacking isn’t great on a 6 cost card, the interactivity in the deck is garbage, and the units within the deck are “ok-ish” at best. I wouldn’t be surprised if you sought out this guide because zero star Darius is so challenging to win with.

There is no great solution to this conundrum. My recommendation at zero star is shoot for high impact powers and hope to roll a good, cheap champion after the first battle. You can typically build an overwhelms deck by pairing into another Noxus champion, Shurima, or Freljord.

Once you reach star power two, Darius really begins to pop off. The bonus attack to your first unit along with the 15 power rally are what you will build every deck around. The champion, the bad interactivity, the weak starting units all get ignored and your goal is to maximize the star powers.

With the star powers in mind, you should be striving for strategies that allow OTKs on your second attack (either turn 3 or turn 4 based on your starting attack token). You ignore late game. You assume you will never play Darius. You ignore interactivity. You win on turn 4.

With these ideas in mind, you want starting powers that either give you units (New Student, Officer Backup, Vanguard Lookout) or combat effectiveness (Lie in Wait, Reunited, Welcome Gifts, Duelist). Both ‘The Best Defense…’ and Trifarian Might are Tier 1 powers.

With your “just cheap stuff” deck building and combat effective powers, you will look to sequence the games for the 2nd attack OTK. This typically involves not blocking on your opponents first attack to maintain your attacking power, then swinging back into your opponents board with 3 or 4 attack boosted units.
