Today, we’re taking on the challenge of playing Akshan Sivir Kayle in the 4.1 patch. This deck was born out of my attempts to make Aatrox work in the current meta. I wasn’t having much luck, so I decided to take all the bad equipment out and focus on the good ones. This opened up the deck building process and allowed us to create the deck we’re playing today.

The elusives package is strong, with Lunari Shadestalker, Esmus, and Winged Messenger all getting a boost from Darkin Lodestone, Darkin Bloodletters, and Swinging Glaive. But the real power of this deck comes from Kayle. She’s been buffed to only cost five mana instead of six, and she’s been incredibly effective with all the equipment we’re playing.
The deck also has a great early game interactivity package, with Akshan, Divine Clerk, and Forsaken Baccai all playing their part. Lunari Cultist is another great early game card, giving us targets for Akshan and gems to get our elusives into combat.
We also have a good spells suite, with two Pale Cascades, two Absolvers, and one copy of Sunburst.
Kayle’s flip side gives us access to an empowered, double-striking overwhelm attack, which is great for late game when our opponent has a bunch of non-elusive units on the board. But even if we can’t get the overwhelm, Kale is still a powerful card.
So that’s the deck we’re playing today. It’s a great mix of elusives, equipment, and spells, and it’s sure to give us a good challenge. Let’s get to it!
