Today I’m going to be talking about the Darius Gnar Bone Club deck. This is a deck I’m looking at in the context of best of three, as the Runeterra Open is coming up in the next weekend. The current top dog of the meta is the Tristana decks, which are control combo decks. They look to flood the board with small units and then do some kind of big explosive damage around turn seven or eight.

Darius Gnar Bone Club is good at attacking this strategy. If we attack with a Loyal Badger Bear, the opponent blocks it and doesn’t take any damage. But if we attack with a Tusk Speaker, we get a trade and punch in a couple of points of damage. This deck also functions pretty reasonably against the Challenger-based decks, like Scouts.

The second piece to the puzzle is having access to Freljord for the Frostbites. This gives us a way to stop the singular giant unit, which is very favorable right now. I think this is going to be a good best of three choice in the upcoming days.

The big inclusion and change to the deck is playing a bunch of Darkin. I think this should be included in every single deck. It fits in fantastically, especially if we consider some of these curves. You may play a Crimson Pigeon into a Ruthless Raider into a Tusk Speaker, and still have one mana left over to equip the Darkin Ballista and carry on with your curve.

Let’s go ahead and jump on into battle and see if Darius can win some games too! Good stuff, good stuff.
