Today I’m excited to share with you my Singleton Gauntlet battle! Singleton is a format using the Eternal card pool, meaning all cards are available, and you get to play three factions instead of two. Within this set of rules, you’re only allowed to play one copy of any card.

When it comes to deck building in Singleton, consistency isn’t always there. This pushes a lot of people towards playing mid-range decks and playing powerful cards. That’s what I’m doing today. I’m building my deck around Feel the Rush and Priestess of Desert Light. These are powerful cards that I’m hoping will help me win. I’m also playing a bunch of predict cards to help me pull together my synergies quicker.

To stop my opponent from doing whatever they’re trying to do, I’m playing cards like Rite of Negation and Puzzling Signpost to stop spells, and Quicksand and Harsh Winds to stop unit-based shenanigans. I’m hoping that my deck is slow enough to beat aggro decks, and has enough mid-rangey tools to beat other mid-rangey decks. I’m also hoping to have some game against faster control decks.

Finally, I’m playing a lot of cards with the overwhelmed theme. I’m playing Ruin Runner and Ancient Yetis, and I’m bringing in the ability to double strike or deal double damage. I’m hoping that if I can get my unit to a 10/10, I can immediately get to 20, or if I’m attacking with an 8/8 overwhelm, I can get that up to 16 and close out the game.

That’s my Singleton Gauntlet battle! I’m hoping that my powerful cards and overwhelmed theme will help me win. Wish me luck!
