Hello, fellow gamers! Welcome to another exciting episode of Battles of Bust, where we delve into the thrilling world of Legends of Runeterra. Today, we’re focusing on the dynamic duo of Kennen and Jinx, and their potential in the current meta.
Before we dive in, let’s address the elephant in the room – the rumored hotfix patch for Siren’s Song. At the time of recording, Riot hadn’t confirmed anything, and while some players believe Siren’s Song is too oppressive, I don’t foresee an immediate fix. Regardless of whether the patch happens or not, the Kennen Jinx deck remains a viable choice in the meta.
We recently featured this aggressive deck in a Ruthless Rumble episode. It’s a deck I’m considering for the upcoming Runeterra Open. The strategy is simple: flood the board, attack for maximum damage, sacrifice card advantage for damage, and close out games with burn.
The deck’s strength lies in its one-drop collection and the value derived from Return-o-Wrench and Kennen. It has a strong discard element, featuring cards like Electro Harpoon, Blowback, Parts Made Whole, Squeaker, and Zaunite Urchin. However, we’re not discarding real cards. Kennen generates the Mark of the Storm, which can be discarded, and Return-o-Wrench provides multiple discards.
The strategy is to attack with all units, discard a Return-o-Wrench with a Zaunite Urchin, and deal damage. If the opponent can’t block, we kill off our unit, get the wrench back, equip it onto another unit, and attack again. This strategy, combined with Return-o-Wrench-based impacts, can slowly chip away at the opponent’s health until they’re within range for a burn finish with Blowbacks and Mystic Shots.
The surprise MVP of this deck is Kennen. His Mark of the Storm can be generated and discarded, making him a valuable asset. He’s a quick attacker that can survive against units from Fizz decks. His flip, Lightning Rush, is also useful for dealing with the Targon Empowered Lifesteal units that are prevalent in the current meta.
