Plunder Aggro – Singleton Gauntlet

Today I’m going to be doing battle in a Singleton Gauntlet. This is our third Singleton video in a row and after this we’ll be jumping back into Standard for the foreseeable future. In our previous videos, we’ve been hammering home the idea of mid-range decks. We assume that the aggressive decks aren’t very good because the density of good aggressive cards doesn’t exist. That means that there will be a lot of mid-range decks doing battle. To give ourselves an edge against the mid-range decks, we’ve been playing cards like Revna and Avarosan Hearthguard to boost the size of our units. We’ve also been playing high-powered spells like Feel the Rush to give us an opportunity to beat the control decks.

But I want to see if we can’t disprove the idea that all of the aggro decks in this format are garbage. The interesting thing with this format is that across our three factions, we have access to a lot of card draw. We have Eye of Nagakaborous, Barbed Chain, Swindle, Zap Sprayfin, Augmented Clockling, and Black Market Merchant. All of these cards help us refill our hand and keep the game going.

To help augment our cheap units, we’re running a large collection of plunder abilities. We also have Reaver’s Row to come in and help boost all of our small plays. And then we have a big collection of Darkin Equipment. These cards are good early on our cheap plays and they’re good late as they morph into the Darkin. This allows us to have a very considerable late game without including any expensive cards in the deck.

So our plan is to flood the board with one drops, refill with card draw, and then close out the game with a big Darkin or Riptide Rex. That’s the deck we’re going to be doing battle with today. Wish me luck!
