Today we’re going to be doing a best of three Standard Gauntlet. This will be our last video before the Runeterra Open gets here, so I wanted to give our lineup a bit of practice and see if we’re happy with the results. Up to this point, I’ve been pushing myself further and further away from the Tristana deck. I’m just not happy with how it goes. So, what we’re looking to do is join the camp of decks that are comfortable against Tristana and then ban out whatever flavor of Samira turns up.

Our lineup today is Samira Pantheon, Scouts, and Jax Ornn from our previous video. We’ve been playing quite a bit of the Samira Fizz Deck with the Powder Pandemoniums, but I’m looking to move away from it as it doesn’t have the late game I want. So, we’re going to be playing Pantheon instead. It’s one of the most ridiculous cards in the format in terms of late game power.

Next, we have Scouts. It’s a pretty standard version from the previous Scouts video. We took out one copy of Island Navigator and added in one copy of Genevieve. I’m starting to consider taking out one copy of Heavy Metal since we’re not going to play against Samira.

Lastly, we’re going to be playing Jax Ornn. This is what we featured in our previous video. I thought the Bellows Breath deck was going to be a meme, but I was actually exceptionally happy with how it turned out. We’re leaning heavier into the Bellows Breath now by including Ruthless Raider. This gives us a unit that can survive the Bellows Breath by means of having Tough. We’ve also upped our count of Wildclaw’s Ferocity up to two. This gives us a way to burst speed overwhelm attack.
Overall, I’m really happy with our lineup today. I think it’s a great way to practice before the Runetera Open and I’m confident that it will give us the results we’re looking for.
